WELCOME BACK!!!!
We are so glad to have your child come to J.W. Wiseman Elementary School. Registration times are Tuesday, July, 30th and Thursday, Aug. 1 from 5-8pm. Please make arrangements to come one of the nights to find out your child's first week schedule. We look forward to working with your child. It's going to be a GREAT YEAR!!!!
Some things you can do to have fun and practice skills:
*Talk with your child about colors and activities that your family is involve in.
*Use sidewalk chalk
*You can use a dry erase marker on the mirror and it will wipe off (just watch closely, you don’t want marks on the counter or walls)
*While shopping, point out letters and numbers or quiz your child as you walk the aisles. For example, “I see an A, can you find one?”
*Have your child find letters and numbers in magazines or the newspaper. Draw colorful circles around those, or cut them out and make a collage.
*During bath time, use foam letters and numbers. They stick to the side of the tub for extra fun.
*Your child is a sponge right now and eager to learn everything!!! Make learning fun :-)

100th Day of School
We will be celebrating the 100th day of school. Can you believe that your child has been in Kindergarten for 100 days already?? Wow, and to think your child is 100 days SMARTER!!!! Your child may bring in 100 small items to show to the class. Please be sure that your child brings these items in a bag and that they can carry them into the school. Your child may also dress up like they are 100 years old. We will be counting to 100 and doing counting to 100 activities. If your child cannot count to 100 yet, this is a skill you need to work on at home. We count to 100 daily in class by 1's, 5's and 10's. This has been a great month and we are learning so much. Continue to watch the weekly newsletter for updates. :-)

Happy New Year 2013!
Happy New Year! I am ready to look ahead to an exciting New Year with your child in Kindergarten! We learned a lot during the first half of the school year. You will see huge gains in your child's progress between now and the end of the year. This is a very exciting time for your child. Watch for the newsletter every week with updates about what we are learning in class. Remind your child to bring a coat to school daily, we go outside almost EVERY day. We will be starting to work on our LEGO showcase grant that will be displayed in April. Spring break is scheduled for the last week in March.
