FALL FUN

At 2 PM on Friday, Nov 2, parents are invited to school to learn ways to help your child with reading and math skills. Your child will earn prizes by doing the activities while you watch. Book Fair starts next week. Remember that books make great Christmas presents. Come in and shop while your child is in class. Remember there will be no school on Tuesday, Nov 6 because of the election. Thanks once again for sending in supplies for the pumpkin pancakes and the Halloween candies and treats.

**OCTOBER HAPPENINGS**

PTO is selling SMART cards. Please help our school raise money by selling these cards. Information is going home with your child TODAY- Oct. 9!!!! Oct. 29th - Nov. 2nd is RED RIBBON WEEK. We will be having a canned food drive and "special dress up days" this week. The schedule is: Monday: Mini(athlete) Monday Tuesday: Totally 80s Tuesday Wednesday: Wacky Wednesday-(Pajama Day for Kindergarten to celebrate "P" week) Thursday: Wear Red for Drug Free Day Friday: Portland Panther Pride - Purple and White Day

October News

We will be having class and individual pictures made on Oct. 9. Fall break will be Oct. 12 - Oct.17.

September 2012

We are off to a great start in Kindergarten. I'm so excited to have your child in my classroom. We will start math and reading stations this week. On Tuesday, September 11, we will have a special speaker at school if possible have your child wear red, white, or blue. There is a parent program at 6pm and every child that attends will receive a book. Just a reminder that fundraiser needs to be turned in by Sept. 14 to qualify for prizes. Continue to collect box tops and send to our classroom. Be sure to check out this blog weekly because I will be posting pictures and updates.

Remember we ask for so many supplies because they are less expensive now and you will not have to send more with your child during the school year. 1 1 inch binder 1 BOX OF LARGE 8 COUNT CRAYOLA BRAND CRAYONS 8 boxes of 24 count crayons- CRAYOLA BRAND 16 small Elmer's glue sticks Fiskar BLUNT tip scissors 6 plastic pocket folders with brads 1 watercolors 8 count (no Roseart crayons or paints) 1 boxes Kleenex Tissues 1 container Clorox Wipes 2 tub baby wipes 1 bottle hand sanitizer 1 box Ziploc bags (boys-quart size girl-gallon size) 1 package (2 or 4 pack) Play-Doh brand playdough 6 fat pencils (already sharpened) 1 package Expo Dry erase markers 1 box 8 count Crayola washable markers Small backpack or pouch that folder will fit in to carry home daily ..

Welcome to Kindergarten!! Kindergarten is an exciting school year!! I am so excited to spend this year with your child. You will be amazed at how quickly your child learns this year. I have been working this summer on a lot of fun and exciting learning activities for your child. I'm looking forward to getting to know your child and you better.
